REFUGEES
Part I. Inexorable collective exodus

Piano work composed, recorded and produced in Barcelona, Spain (Casa Verde BCN and Lung Ta Mas Serradell).

Created especially for the collective #CORONARTISTS, based on the theme “REFUGEES”, with the goal of producing the work in a certain period of time (2 months).

REFUGEES is a work of contemporary music that attempts to express the human drama of displaced people and peoples.

The piano, a symbol of the elite culture of Central Europe, represents the high level of aesthetic refinement, thought, human expression and artistic production developed in these societies of great intellectual flight.

A refinement that, unfortunately, is not reflected in its foreign policies, which are often invasive and oppressive. Policies that force different peoples to emigrate and seek refuge precisely in these same countries, oppressors of fundamental human rights.

There are many refugees who survive “inside the piano”, between the strings, hidden in this great social machinery, without the possibility of operating the keys or hammers of these dominant cultures.
